Masters in Adult Teaching (Level 9)

I love being a student of Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, as the Campus provides ample support and guidance to international students and Buddy Program is one of them which provides new students with Mentors to support and train them to adjust in the new atmosphere. Mentors help them to overcome the cultural shock.

I chose to be a mentor for the Buddy Program as I personally have experienced the problems that an international student can face, and I can guide them better through my own experiences. I will be supporting this program by being a friend and guide to new students who are in a new environment. I can assist them in finding new places to use.

When I arrived here in Nov. 17, the biggest problem I faced was to get own accommodation, as I was not having any New Zealand reference. I am happy that Student Pulse is asking from international students for accommodation help from the students through a survey. With the passage of time, the country does feel like a second home. There are vast opportunities for work and entertainment.

Assignments has been a great challenge for international students, but I am lucky and pleased to have great tutors and learning advisors around me. Tutors are so cooperative and caring that they even helped me other than their regular class also. they give us freedom to think and express our views.

Overall, I feel myself lucky to be a part of Toi Ohomai and Student Pulse. I am also a class representative of adult teaching.
